Enter the route house to the east. On the second floor is Professor Oak’s Aide. He will give you the ITEMFINDER if you’ve captured 30 different types of Pokemon. This item will detect any hidden items that are on screen.

The boy next to Oak’s aide will offer to trade Pokemon with you. He will give you his Nidorino for your Nidorina. Like usual, the level will be the same as the Nidorina you trade.

When you’re done here, exit out of the route house to the east. Check the small bushes on the south side to find a hidden Hyper Potion. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to go further east because of Snorlax. Return to Vermilion City and challenge the Pokemon Gym to obtain your third badge.
