Rock Tunnel is a two floor cave within Route 10. It’s the only way to reach Lavender Town on the first play through. The path is pitch black, making it incredibly hard to navigate through. Use HM05 Flash to illuminate the entire cave in one step. If you missed it earlier, this Hidden Machine can be found on Route 2, and requires the Thunder Badge to use on the field.

Follow the path from the ladder to the southeast until you reach a Pokemon Trainer.

After the battle, follow the path south, east, and north to a ladder. This will take you down a level. Another trainer can be found along the path to the west.

The cave will twist from the southwest to the northeast. Follow this path towards the next ladder. Four Pokemon Trainers can be found along the way.

The ladder up a level can be found at the northwest corner of this path, beyond all the trainers. It will take you to an area with three more trainers, but two can be avoided. It’s best to battle everyone so your Pokemon are strong enough.
