The Cascade Badge

After beating the GYM Leader you can go North, west, or East. You should first go East to Route 8

Route 8 is a straight shot East to Lavender Town. There are a few trainers and a small patch of grass with wild pokemon. The building you first see is locked so you can’t go inside. You’ll see three biker trainers you can face or you can go up and around them by jumping down the ledges behind them. If you choose to face them they’re laid out like so:

Before you leave the route you can get a Ylw Apricorn from a tree. Now head East to Lavender!

Lavender Town

At the top left part of town is the pokemon center and pokemart with the same stuff. The houses are pretty useless. Nothing special. One is another name rater to change your pokemon’s nick names. That’s the circus tent looking house. The big tower is a radio tower. Inside you’ll see a man saying that the Radio Tower can’t do anything since the Power Plant went out. That’s the next thing to do! Head North to the power plant!

Route 10

Head North and push a boulder on the left side up the stairs to grab TM69 Rock Polish. Then head to the right and up the stairs to face a trainer:

Rock Tunnel

Rock Tunnel is a two level cave that’s pitch black. It’s best to navigate with flash. Use this map to navigate here:

There’s no trainers but a few items.

Enter, go up the hill and to the left. Squeeze through a little passage to get the item you see on the map. It’s an Elixir. Head back and take the ladder down marked C. Go to the right until you see the rocky sides. We still haven’t found Rock Climb so you can go up or down. Around the second one you can head upwards through a path. Go up and to the left to the ladder marked B. Next go to the right, up, and then left up and down some stairs to the ladder marked A. Go to the right down and up some stairs to get a revive. Now go back and take the set of stairs next to the first set. Keep going right until you reach a set of stairs that goes downward to a PP Up. Continue Right to the ladder marked D. On the next floor is the exit out of the cave! Pretty simple right?

When you exit there will be a Pokemon Center. Head North up to a water area. You’ll have to surf right, down, and to the left to reach the Power Plant.

Power Plant

Inside the powerplant you can talk to the manager. He’ll tell you that a thief stole a critical part of the generator. On the way out the security guard gets a call saying they spotted the thief in Cerulean. That’s your next stop!

Also in the back is a trainer who will trade a Dugtrio for a Magneton.

Cerulean City is a medium size town. The Pokemon Center is in the middle of the town to the left of the GYM. The Pokemart is under the GYM. Head to the GYM and you’ll find the thief but nobody else is inside. Go North of Cerulean to follow him.

Route 24 is a short path that heads North along a bridge and a small grass area on the side. Route 25 connects to Route 24 and goes East to Bill’s House!

Head up the bridge and you’ll see the thief try to hide. Talk to him to battle

Next you can cut a small tree up and to the left. In that area you’ll find a protein. Head right to find Bill’s Sea Cottage. Bill isn’t inside but his grandfather is. He’ll ask to see certain pokemon and give hints to their appearance. If you show him the right ones he’ll give you a prize. Exit out and head right up a cliff. There you’ll find Misty the Cerulean GYM Leader. She’ll now be at the GYM. Go back to it to find the Machine Part and challenge her!

Cerulean City GYM

The Cerulean City GYM uses primarily water type pokemon. Water types are weak against grass and electric. They are strong against ground, rock, and fire types. Now the inside is packed full of trainer! Five to be exact. You have to go along the side and surf in the water to reach misty. The two side trainers are:

Go up and fight those two, after that go to the pokemon center to heal your pokemon. When you come back just walk up the right side again to face the GYM Leader

GYM Leader Misty – P6480, TM03 Water Pulse, Cascade Badge

Misty uses pretty tough water pokemon. All of them know Water Pulse, a special water attack that may confuse you. The others no secondary moves like psychic, ice beam, and earthquake so plan just right. Grass and Electric types are strong against water, but grass is weak against ice and electric is weak against ground. Misty will probably use a full restore too.

Before leaving the GYM go down towards the pool from Misty. Then head left and examine the red and white tube. You’ll find the machine part! After that you can make a quick run south to Route 5.
