After that go up and into the next row of buildings. There’s a big one right in the middle. This is Silph Co. Talk to the guard to get the item “Up-Grade.” To the left and on the next row of buildings is the Copycat’s House. You don’t get anything for going in there. You have to go around Silph Co to go to the right set of buildings. There’s a Pokemart There. Usual stuff. And the last row at the top has the Magnet Train on the top left, but it’s still not running. The top right is the Fighting Dojo and the Saffron GYM. There’s nothing in the Fighting Dojo but a person to tell you the Karate King is in Johto. Now head to the GYM to earn your next badge!

Saffron City GYM

The Saffron City GYM primarily uses Psychic Type Pokemon. Psychic pokemon are weake against bug, ghost, and dark type moves. They are strong against fighting and poison type pokemon.

The Saffron City GYM uses teleporter pads to teleport you from one room to the next. There are four trainers and the GYM Leader there. Use that map to find your way. -Credit to psypokes.com again. You could just keep going up and down on the pads to eventually reach the GYM Leader. GYM Leader Sabrina – P6600, TM48 Skill Swap, Marsh Badge

Sabrina can be pretty tough if your pokemon aren’t strong enough. Don’t send out any fighting, or poison pokemon or they will get wiped out quick. Luckily Psychic types are neutral to most other types. Her pokemon are fast and have high special attacks. They all know skill swap which is an attack that switches your pokemon’s ability with theirs.

Espeon (Male) Lv53
Type:Psychic
Ability:Synchronize
Attacks:
-Calm Mind (Psychic/Other)
-Skill Swap (Psychic/Other)
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)

As you can see this pokemon knows Shadow Ball. Do not send out ghost or other psychic pokemon to face it or they will die. Calm mind raises it’s special attack and defense stat making it that much stronger.

Mr. Mime (Female) Lv53

-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Mimic (Normal/Other)
-Skill Swap (Psychic/Other)

Mr. Mime can use Light Screen to help protect itself against special attacks. Mimic copies one of your moves so he can use it the rest of the battle, or atleast while he’s still out.

Alakazam (Male) Lv55 w/Sitrus Berry
Type:Psychic
Ability:Inner Focus
Attacks:
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Energy Ball (Grass/Special)
-Reflect (Psychic/Other)
-Skill Swap (Psychic/Other)
EXP:2191

Like usual the GYM Leader’s top pokemon has a sitrus bery. Reflect helps their party withstand physical attacks. Energy Ball is a special grass attack so be careful if you send out a water type.
