You can keep it if you like. It has major defense and special defense. Very few weaknesses. If you keep it with you and it grows to like you then when you return it the man will say you can keep it. If not he’ll just take it back.

You may notice a cave on the west wall. It leads to the Safari Zone. However, it’s still under construction so you’ll have to come back later.

Next head North to the end of the island. You can find a hidden Revive around the smashable rocks. Then go towards Suicune. He’ll escape you and Eusine will battle you so be ready! He’s a tough one!

Cianwood GYM

The objective of this GYM is to shut off the waterfall that the GYM Leader is training under. There are two trainers on each side. I suggest fighting them all to level up because after this GYM you’ll fly back to Olivine for another GYM. And all of these pokemon are strong! Cianwood’s GYM houses Fighting Type Pokemon. Fighting type moves are strong against Rock, Ice, Normal, Dark, and Steel pokemon. Flying and Psychic type moves are strong against the fighting type, but look out because many of the pokemon know different type attacks and have strong attack and usually defense power. Their fighting and normal type attacks cannot hit ghost pokemon unless they have the move foresight or the ability scrappy.

First trainer is to the right:

Black Belt Lao – P648

Hitmonchan (Male) Lv27
Type:Fighting
Ability:Keen Eye or Iron Fists (Not sure which but either aren’t good for your team)
Attacks:
-Mach Punch (Normal/Physical)
-Thunderpunch (Electric/Physical)
-Ice Punch (Ice/Physical)
-Fire Punch (Fire/Physical)
EXP:810

Hitmonchan can be real tough especially at level 27. He has many physical attacks of different types. Mach Punch is only normal type but it will hit first like quick attack.

When you’re done with him head up the stairs for another trainer:

Black Belt Lung – P600

Mankey (Male) Lv23
Type:Fighting
Ability:Vital Spirit and Anger Point
Attacks:
-Fury Swipes (Normal/Physical)
-Karate Chop (Fighting/Physical)
-Seismic Toss (Fighting/Physical)
-Screech (Normal/Other)
EXP:362-364

Mankey (Male) Lv23
Type:Fighting
Ability:Vital Spirit and Anger Point
Attacks:
-Fury Swipes (Normal/Physical)
-Karate Chop (Fighting/Physical)
-Seismic Toss (Fighting/Physical)
-Screech (Normal/Other)

Ability:Vital Spirit and Anger Point
Attacks:
-Assurance (Dark/Physical)
-Karate Chop (Fighting/Physical)
-Seismic Toss (Fighting/Physical)

EXP:798

Next head down and to the other side to fight two more trainers:

Black Belt Yoshi – P648

Hitmonlee (Male) Lv27
Type:Fighting
Ability:Limber or Reckless
Attacks:
-Double Kick (Fighting/Physical)
-Meditate (Psychic/Other)
-Jump Kick (Fighting/Physical)

and

Black Belt Nob – P600

-Focus Energy (Normal/Other)
-Karate Chop (Fighting/Physical)

EXP:398

Machoke (Male) Lv25
Type:Fighting
Ability:Guts or No Guard
Attacks:
-Leer (Normal/Other)
-Rock Slide (Rock/Physical)
-Karate Chop (Fighting/Physical)
-Seismic Toss (Fighting/Physical)
EXP:777

Now exit and heal up your pokemon for the GYM Leader. Re enter the GYM and head up the left side. Press the big red button at the top to stop the water. Now go back down to face the GYM Leader:

GYM Leader Chuck – P3720, TM01 Focus Punch, and the Storm Badge which allows you to use Fly outside of battle.

Primeape (Male) Lv29
Type:Fighting
Ability:Vital Spirit
Attacks:
-Rock Slide (Rock/Physical)
-Double Team (Normal/Other)
-Focus Punch (Fight/Physical)
-Leer (Normal/Other)
EXP:950

Primeape is quite a foe! He can lower your defense with his leer attack and then knock you out with rock slide. He’ll use double team so you can’t hit him and Focus Punch is a major fighting type move blow. Focus Punch is extremely powerful but it takes awhile to use. If you hit the pokemon using it then they won’t be able to use it at the end of the turn. They have to tighten it’s focus first. When his HP gets low Chuck may use a Hyper Potion on Primeape completely restoring his health.

Poliwrath w/Sitrus Berry (Male) Lv31
Type:Water/Fighting
Ability:Water Absorb
Attacks:
-Surf (Water/Special)
-Hypnosis (Psychic/Other)
-Body Slam (Normal/Physical)
-Focus Punch (Fighting/Physical)
EXP:1228

Poliwrath is another tough enemy. He can put you to sleep with hypnosis or damage you with body slam which in turn can paralyze you! Surf and Focus Punch are both hard hitting moves but remember Focus Punch needs no interruptions! When he gets weak he’ll heal himself with the sitrus berry he holds.
