The Earth Badge

Viridian City GYM

The Viridian GYM has a weird floor. If you’ve played the R/B/Y/FR/LG games you would have seen this floor before. There are arrows that if you walk on you will get teleported in that direction. You have to touch the right arrows to move forward. There are also a few trainers on the way to the GYM Leader. The Viridian GYM doesn’t use one particular type either so be ready for anything. Here’s a map of the GYM.

First thing to do is step on the red arrow that’s all the way to the right. If you’re colorblind then it’s the last error on the right pointing upward. Then step on the red arrow pointing left, two squares to your left. After that take the red arrow that’s up two squares pointing up. Take one step to the right and one step up to move forward. After that take two steps to your right. Lastly take two steps to your right to reach the red arrow pointing up. You reached the GYM Leader!

Blue is probably the hardest GYM Leader you will face, not because of the high levels, but because he has a well balanced team with various attacks. Try and use the right types and right pokemon to counter his pokeon. Exeggutor can use the attack “Trick Room” which you get as a TM. This move allows slow pokemon to attack first instead of the faster one. Pidgeot and Arcanine have moves that will make your pokemon switch out to another (Whirlwind and Roar). Plan accordingly and you’ll do fine!

When you beat him and exit the GYM you’ll get a call from Prof. Oak. He says to head to his lab.
