Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered Multiplayer Guide

Equipment

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered allows each class to be equipped with one frag grenade, one tactical grenade, and one melee weapon.

Frag Grenade

Frag Grenades are your typical hand grenade explosive. They have a three and a half second fuse, and can be cooked in your hand before thrown. Cook a grenade to get it to explode right when it reaches the enemy. If a grenade hits the floor before exploding, it can be picked up and thrown back with the same button used to throw a grenade.

Smoke Grenade

Smoke Grenades create a cloud of white smoke to obstruct the view of everyone around. It’s highly useful when going for objectives, like in domination or search and destroy.

Flash Grenade

Flashbangs were incredibly powerful tactical grenades in the campaign, so they were split into two for the multiplayer: Flash and Stun. Flash Grenades detonate after one second, even if thrown in the air. They will temporarily blind any opponent in view of the grenade, and increase their movement sensitivity to make it more difficult to react. The severeness of the effects depend on how close you are the flash grenade.

Stun Grenade

Flashbangs were incredibly powerful tactical grenades in the campaign, so they were split into two for the multiplayer: Flash and Stun. Stun Grenades detonate one second after touching the floor. They will temporarily decrease the movement of an enemy, and cause the weapon to sway for a short time. The severeness of the effects depend on how close you are to the stun grenade.

Melee

All players are equipped with a basic knife melee attack by default. However, in Modern Warfare Remastered, new melee weapons can be unlocked and equipped to each class. These weapons are only unlocked through supply crates and crafting. Switch to a melee weapon by holding the switch weapon button (Y on Xbox and Triangle on PlayStation). The original knife cannot be switched to like other melee weapons.
