Bulletstorm Guide

Echoes Modes

[toc]

Echoes is a single player game mode on BulletStorm. The objective of the mode is to reach a score limit in a few mini levels to earn up to 3 stars. Your score and time will be ranked on the online leaderboards against your friends and the world. Use skillshots and aiming at events to earn points. There are multiple drop kits throughout the levels to refil your ammo and change your secondary weapon. You cannot upgrade your weapons.

There are 20 Echoes Levels. Some levels need stars to unlock them. Each level has a certain set of weapons to choose from. You must reach a set score to earn all three stars. There is a PAR Time on each level which will give you a time bonus if you are under. The time bonus is 20x the amount of seconds you are under. If you finish the level 20 seconds under the Target Time, you will earn a Time Bonus of 400 points. There are no difficulty selections in Echoes. The following levels are in the same order as the levels in game.

Echo Weapons

The weapons in Echoes mode can only be found in the dropkits. There will always be one dropkit at the start of the level. The Leash and Peacemaker Carbine are your default weapons. You can choose two secondary weapons, a RIGHT and a LEFT weapon. Use the D-PAD to choose the weapons quickly. Leash the dropkits to refill your ammo. Unlike Campaign and Anarchy, you cannot upgrade your weapons.

Leash

Use the leash to launch enemies into the air and towards you. While in the air they will be in suspended animation for about 4 seconds. Use that time to think up and accomplish skillshots. Using the thumper ability, the leash can be used to slam enemies into the ground and send them flying into the sky for a longer time than the regular leash or kick. Hold the leash button to accomplish this. There are three thumper shots.

Peacemaker Carbine

The Peacemaker Carbine is a fully automatic assault rifle. It has high accuracy and rate of fire. The charged shot of the PMC fires 100 bullets in one blast.

  • 50 Rounds Per Clip
  • 450 Rounds Extra
  • 3 Charge Shots

Screamer

The Screamer is a high-caliber revolver. It has decent accuracy. You can find it in Act 1 Chapter 3. The charged shot for the screamer is an explosive flare. You fire the flare at the enemy and it explodes about a second after it touches the floor or enemy.

  • 8 Rounds Per Clip
  • 24 Rounds Extra
  • 3 Charge Shots

Flailgun

The Flailgun is a special explosive weapon. It fires two grenades linked by a chain. After firing the chained grenades you must press the fire button again to detonate them. The charged shot of the flailgun heats the chain, allowing the weapon to slice through enemies like a hot knife through butter.

  • 2 Rounds Per Clip
  • 8 Rounds Extra
  • 3 Charge Shots

Boneduster

The Boneduster is a quad-barreled shotgun. Deadly at close range, weak at long range. The charge shot fires super-heated air at the enemies, killing them instantly up close and at distance.

  • 4 Rounds Per Clip
  • 16 Rounds Extra
  • 3 Charge Shots

Bouncer

The Bouncer is a bazooka that fires impact-resistant explosive rounds. You can fire the weapon to have the round explode on impact, or you can fire the weapon and hold the trigger to keep the round from exploding until you release the trigger. The charge shot is a constantly exploding, bouncing ball. You can leash or kick it around while it explodes.

  • 3 Rounds Per Clip
  • 9 Rounds Extra
  • 3 Charge Shots

Penetrator

The Penetrator is a special projectile weapon. It fires drills at high speed to penetrate any enemy in it’s path. The drills can fire through multiple targets. The charge shot fires a rocket-propelled drill which keeps the enemy in mid air. You can then shoot, leash, or kick them in any other direction.

  • 1 Round Per Clip
  • 13 Rounds Extra
  • 3 Charge Shots

Head Hunter

The Head Hunter is a semi-automatic sniper rifle. Each shot can be guided by you. Everything goes into slow motion, use the right stick to steer the bullet. The Charge Shot is an explosive round. You can still steer the bullet like the regular round, but this time you can detonate it whenever you like.

  • 5 Rounds Per Clip
  • 5 Rounds Extra
  • 3 Charge Shots

Chaingun

The Chaingun is a high rate of fire and high power minigun. You can find it in select locations. The chaingun has limited ammo, shown by lightning bolts at the bottom right part of the screen. It will overheat if you use it too long.
