Pokemon OR/AS – Super-Secret Bases Announced!

Secret Bases have been confirmed for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, along with new features.

I’m back with another update for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but no new video to include just yet. Yesterday The Pokemon Company confirmed the addition of Super-Secret Bases in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. For those that don’t know, Secret Bases are small rooms you can create, decorate, and share with friends. Add items from shops around Hoenn, set traps to trick visitors, and even create your very own Pokemon battle rules to test your rivals. It will be like being the leader of your very own Pokemon Gym!

Sharing your Super-Secret Base with another player can be done in two simple ways. You can find a Secret Base with the StreetPass function of your 3DS, or you can create a QR code specifically for your secret base for others to scan with their 3DS camera and instantly find.

Visit a secret base to talk with other base owners and challenge them to a battle. If you really like the owner, you can make them one of your Secret Pals and bring them back to your base. Once you are Secret Pals with someone, you can have your Pal use a Special Skill to support you on your adventure. At this time the only known Special Skills include sharing new Decorations, making a Pokemon Egg hatch faster, or raising the level of a select Pokemon by one. Chances are more Special Skills will be similar to O-Powers found in Pokemon X and Y or Pass Powers found in Pokemon Black and White.

A new feature for Super-Secret Bases is the capture-the-flag activity. Examine the flag beside the Secret PC in another player’s Secret Base to capture it. You can obtain one flag each day from each base you visit. The more flags you collect, the more your team’s rank will increase, which then alters the color of your flag. Flag color will allow you to instantly tell the rank of a base owner’s team. Increasing your team’s rank will increase the Special Skills of your Secret Pals.

The original Ruby and Sapphire featured Secret Bases that could be created anywhere in Hoenn with an indent in a wall (or within certain trees) after using a Pokemon that knew the move Secret Power. It is unknown at this time if the method will be the same in Omega Ruy and Alpha Sapphire, but has been stated that a world traveler named Aarune, along with his Flygon, will introduce you to the Super-Secret Bases in this game.
