Pokemon Sun and Moon Walkthrough

Forms

Forms are the different physical appearances, and some times type and stat changes, of the same species of Pokemon. There are three types of forms in Pokemon: alternate forms, form changing, and the newly introduced Alolan forms.

Mega-evolved Pokemon are a hybrid of form changes and evolution. The Pokemon do evolve in battle with the help of a Mega Stone, but the Pokemon then revert back to their original forms after battle.

Alternate Forms

Alternate forms are the different looks of the same species of Pokemon. The most common alternate form is between male and female Pokemon. Their appearance may be slight alterations, such as Pikachu’s tail, or it may be much more dramatic, such as Meowstic’s appearance and move set change.

Alolan Forms

Alolan forms are alternate forms of past Pokemon exclusively found in the Alola region. Not only have their appearances changed, but so have their types, move sets, and evolution process. See the Alolan Pokemon page for a list of Alolan Pokemon.

Form Changing

Different from alternate forms, form changing allows a Pokemon to change in or out of battle through specific circumstances.

Some form changes will not only alter the Pokemon’s looks, but all their base stats may be altered as well, and they may even get a new type. Below is a growing list of all of the Pokemon that can change forms outside of battle, and how to alter their forms. They are listed in national Pokedex order.

Deoxys

Deoxys has four different forms with four different base stats. To change its form, take Deoxys to a meteorite located somewhere in each game. The location in Sun and Moon will be posted here at a later date.

Rotom

Rotom has six different forms. Changing forms will change the Pokemon’s type, boost its stats, and alter one special move in its move set. Each form can be changed when you bring a Rotom to a set of appliances somewhere in the game. The location in Sun and Moon will be posted here at a later date.

Keldeo

Keldeo has an Ordinary and Resolute form. It changes from Ordinary to Resolute after learning the Secret Sword attack from a move tutor somewhere in the game. The location in Sun and Moon will be posted here at a later date. Nothing but its appearance changes.

Meloetta

Meloetta form can be changed from Aria to Pirouette. It changes types and base stats after using the move Relic Song in battle. After battle, Meloetta will revert back to the Aria form. This attack can be taught to Meloetta from a move tutor somewhere in the game. The location in Sun and Moon will be posted here at a later date.

Shaymin

Shaymin’s form can be changed from Land to Sky when this Pokemon touches the Gracidea key item between 5 AM and 8 PM based on the 3DS clock. Its appearance, type, ability, and base stats will be altered. The Gracidea can be obtained somewhere in the game. The location in Sun and Moon will be posted here at a later date.

Three Flying Legends of Gen 5

Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus can change form after using the Reveal Glass key item. The appearance of the Pokemon, their abilities, and base stats will alter once their forms have been changed. The Reveal Glass can be obtained by bringing one of these legends somewhere in the game. The location in Sun and Moon will be posted here at a later date.

Kyurem

Kyurem can mix with Zekrom and Reshirom after using the DNA Splicers key item. The abilities and move sets will change along with their form. The DNA Splicers can be found somewhere in the game. The location in Sun and Moon will be posted here at a later date.
