Pokemon Sun and Moon Walkthrough

Weather

Weather is another type of condition that can change the tide of Pokemon battles. Each weather type can affect a Pokemon’s attacks, abilities, and even HP.

Pokemon moves and abilities trigger weather changes on the battlefield. The weather effects will last for five turns unless changed by another move or ability from a new Pokemon coming into the battle. A few held items can extend the length of the weather during battle. These items are the Damp Rock, Heat Rock, Icy Rock, and Smooth Rock which will extend Heavy Rain, Intense Sunlight, Hailstorms, and Sandstorms respectively for three additional turns.

The majority of the time, if not all the time in some Pokemon games, there will be no specific weather in the region. However, in select games, you may find specific weather patterns at certain areas in the region.
