The Soul Badge

With all that done it’s time to go to Fuchsia City, but there are two ways to get there. You can take the Bicycle Road (Routes 16, 17, and 18) which is west of Celadon and the fastest IMO, or you can take the longer way around south of Lavender (Routes 12, 13, 14, and 15).

I will give a more detailed walkthrough for Routes 16-18 and a small guide for routes 12-15. I may come back to that later to fill it out more.

Routes 12-15

Before you head inside the building that leads to the bike path you’ll want to cut the small tree and head West. This tree is before the stairs that lead up to the building on Route 16. You’ll find a small patch of grass where you can catch pokemon and a little house. Inside a man will tell you a trendy phrase…okay. Now lets head to Cycling Road! Now head East to Fuchsia! If you want you can battle a few bird pokemon trainers on the other side of the building outside of cycling road.

Fuchsia City

Head down and you’ll see the town’s GYM and Pokemon Center right next to each other. The North area has a red Apricorn tree, a PokeMart, and a guy who will trade berries for shards like in Violet City. At the very top is where the Safari Zone used to be. Now there’s the Pal Park. If you talk to the man at the counter he’ll ask you to participate in the Catching Show. You basically catch your own pokemon you migrate over from a GBA game.

Fuchsia City GYM

Fuchsia City’s GYM may look plain but there’s actually hidden walls around the GYM. You’ll have to try and navigate around to find the GYM Leader. All the trainers look the same but only one is the real GYM Leader. They all use poison type pokemon. Poison Type Pokemon are weak against ground and psychic types. They can’t even touch steel types. They’re strong against grass pokemon. You don’t have to battle any of the trainers unless you talk to them so just find the right one! The real GYM Leader is in the middle of the GYM. Second from the bottom. You’ll have to make your way around the right side and go all the way around to try and find the right path:

GYM Leader Janine – P6000, TM84 Poison Jab, Soul Badge.

Crobat (Female) Lv47
Type:Poison/Flying
Ability:Inner Focus
Attacks:
-Wing Attack (Flying/Physical)
-Screech (Normal/Other)
-Confuse Ray (Ghost/Other)
-Supersonic (Normal/Other)
EXP:2053

Crobat isn’t too tough when you face him straight up. He will try and make things tough by confusing you, lowering your defense, and attacking you. You could do more damage than he does.

Weezing (Female) Lv44
Type:Poison
Ability:Levitate
Attacks:
-Sludge Bomb (Poison/Special)
-Toxic (Poison/Other)
-Double Hit (Normal/Physical)
-Explosion (Normal/Physical)
EXP:1630

Weezing can be tough. Sludge bomb is a strong move and double hit can do a little damage. Toxic takes away more and more HP each turn when it poisons you. If all else fails he may just explode killing himself and dealing massive damage to you.

Ariados (Female) Lv47
Type:Bug/Poison
Ability:Swarm or Insomnia
Attacks:
-Swagger (Normal/Other)
-Night Shade (Ghost/Special)
-Poison Jab (Poison/Physical)
-Pin Missile (Bug/Physical)
EXP:1348

Ariados (Female) Lv47
Type:Bug/Poison
Ability:Swarm or Insomnia
Attacks:
-Screech (Normal/Other)
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Poison Jab (Poison/Physical)
-Pin Missile (Bug/Physical)
EXP:1348

The ariadoses may be hard to tell apart from eachother. One will try and confuse you and use night shade which will take off 47 HP each time. Pin Missile is a pretty weak bug type attack while Poison Jab is a decent Poison Type attack. Psychic is a decent special attack.

Venomoth (Female) Lv50 w/Sitrus Berry
Type:Bug/Poison
Ability:Shield Dust or Tinted Lens
Attacks:
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Sludge Bomb (Poison/Special)
-Signal Beam (Bug/Special)
-Double Team (Normal/Other)
EXP:1477

There’s not much to say about Venomoth if you’ve seen it’s stats. It can be tough unless you knock it out fast.

With that done you can try going South but you’ll see the Route is blocked. There’s another GYM in Cinnabar which is that direction. You’ll have to take the long way around. Fly to Vermilion City Now. Then go East.
