Victory Road

Obtainable Pokemon
Golbat
Graveler
Onix
Rhyhorn
Donphan (Heart Gold)
Ursaring (Soul Silver)

Victory Road is a three floor cave that leads to the Pokemon League. There are tough wild pokemon here. You’ll need strength to move boulders around. If you need a map click here.

First thing you want to do is move the first boulder up. Once it’s out of the way head left, up, to the right and grab a potion. Now head left up the stairs and up across the bridge. Go down the left set of stairs not the right. Once you’re down head to the right under the bridge and find a full heal. Now go Left and up. Before going to the stairs you’ll see two boulders the top boulder leads to a dead end. Move the bottom boulder to the right and grab the Max Revive at the end. A very useful item. Now go back and head up the stairs to the next floor.

On the next floor head down to find stairs up the hills. Head up them and go right to find a ladder that leads to a hole. Jump down the hole and head upward to a boulder. Move the boulder over once spot. Then climb down the stairs, up another set to the left of them, and grab the Full Restore on the other side. Now move the boulder over again and head up the other set of stairs to reach the ladder at the top. DO NOT Jump down the first hole. Make your way around the top of it and go left. Climb up another set of stairs and find an ultra ball. Keep going to the left to find two holes. Take the one on the left. Grab the HP Up and jump down the ledge to climb up the ladder. Next go up and around the hole you may see to find a Rare Candy hidden around some rocks. Jump down the hole and go left and down some stairs to find TM26 Earthquake! Now take the ladder up and jump down the ledge to the right. Go down and to the right until you reach some smashable rocks. If you have rock smash use them to grab the TM79 Dark Pulse. Head up towards the exit to find your rival!

Rival – P2560

The Indigo Plateau

The Ultimate Goal for Trainers! Pokemon League HQ.

This is it! The elite trainers. If you don’t think you’re ready for them you can rebattle some older trainers or fight wild pokemon in Victory Road. Level up until you think you’re ready and then buy TONS of items because once you start you can’t go back until you beat them all or lose in battle which means you have to start from the beginning. There’s a Pokemon Center and all other Pokemon Center stuff. There’s also a

Poke Mart
Ultra Ball – P1200
Max Repel – P700
Hyper Potion – P1200
Max Potion – P2500
Full Restore – P3000
Revive – P1500
Full Heal – P600

There are Four Elite Trainers and then the Pokemon League Champion that you have to face. They use one general type of pokemon but some pokemon may not fit the exact type. Choose your pokemon wisely!

Elite Four Will – P5040

Will uses primarily Psychic type pokemon which are weak to ghost, bug, and dark type moves. Psychic type moves are strong against fighting type and poison type pokemon. Many of the pokemon have various type moves so look out.

Xatu (Female) Lv40
Type:Psychic/Flying
Ability:Synchronize
Attacks:
-U-Turn (Bug/Physical)
-Me First (Normal/Other)
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Confuse Ray (Ghost/Other)
EXP:1465

Xatu may use U-Turn real quick to hit the bug type move and switch out to another pokemon. Psychic is powerful and confuse ray is annoying. Don’t use too powerful of a move if you’re weak against it too (like a psychic type using a ghost move) because Xatu could use Me First and steal the move to use it against you with a higher power. If you try to give him a status effect you can gain it too with it’s synchronize ability.

Jynx (Female) Lv41
Type:Psychic/Ice
Ability:Oblivious
Attacks:
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Lovely Kiss (Normal/Other)
-Ice Punch (Ice/Physical)
-DoubleSlap (Normal/Physical)
EXP:1203

Jynx can be easy or tough depending on the pokemon you’re using against it. It has ice physical and psychic special attacks as you can see. Double Slap isn’t too powerful and Lovely Kiss will put you to sleep so watch out. While I battled Jynx, will used a Full Restore since I didn’t kill her off with one shot.

Slowbro (Female) Lv41
Type:Psychic/Water
Ability:Oblivious or Own Tempo
Attacks:
-Curse (???/Other)
-Amnesia (Psychic/Other)
-Water Pulse (Water/Special)
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
EXP:1440

Slow bro has high defenses and can raise them more with his status attacks so try and take him out quickly. Or you can use other status effects like poison. I’m not sure which ability he has but one negates attract and one negates confusion.

Exeggutor (Female) Lv41
Type:Psychic/Grass
Ability:Chlorophyll
Attacks:
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Reflect (Psychic/Other)
-Egg Bomb (Normal/Other)
-Hypnosis (Psychic/Other)
EXP:1861

Exeggutor can put you to sleep with hypnosis and dampen your attacks on him and the whole party with his reflect attack. Use fire or bug to take him out real quick.

Xatu (Female) Lv42 w/Sitrus Berry
Type:Psychic/Flying
Ability:Synchronize
Attacks:
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Ominous wind (Ghost/Special)
-Aerial Ace (Flying/Physical)
-Confuse Ray (Ghost/Other)
EXP:1539

Will has two Xatus and the second one may be more deadly than the first. The attacks are very strong and she holds a Sitrus Berry to restore a little health.

When you beat Will you get to advanced to the next trainer Koga.

Elite Four Koga – P5080

Koga uses primarily Poison or Buy type pokemon. They use lots of poison type attacks which can be deadly.

Ariados (Male) Lv40
Type:Poison/Bug
Ability:Insomnia
Attacks:
-Poison Jab (Poison/Physical)
-Giga Drain (Grass/Special)
-Spider Web (Bug/Other)
-Baton Pass (Normal/Other)
EXP:1147

Ariados has some decent grass and poison type attacks. Spider Web will prevent your pokemon from switching out while Baton Pass will allow him to switch out while keeping all effects Ariados made.

Forretress (Male) Lv43
Type:Bug/Steel
Ability:Sturdy
Attacks:
-Explosion (Normal/Physical)
-Swift (Normal/Special)
-Toxic Spikes (Poison/Other)
-Protect (Normal/Other)
EXP:1086

Forretress has extremely high defense. Because it’s bug and steel, it is double weak to fire type moves. Take it out quick with fires or it will throw toxic spikes around your pokemon. Toxic Spikes poison your pokemon each time you switch in a new one. Protect does just that, it protects him from any move but won’t work consecutively. If all else fails him he may use Explosion which is extremely powerful but will cause him to faint aswell.

Muk (Male) Lv42 w/Black Sludge
Type:Poison
Ability:Stench or Sticky Hold
Attacks:
-Gunk Shot (Poison/Physical)
-Toxic (Poison/Other)
-Screech (Normal/Other)
-Minimize (Normal/Other)
EXP:1413

Muk has one actual attacking move, Gunk Shot. Gunk Shot only can be used 5 times but it’s really powerful. Screech lowers your defense which will make Gunk Shot even stronger! Minimize raises his evasion so you can’t hit him while Toxic takes off your HP more and more each turn. His item Black Sludge restores a little of his HP each turn. If you steal it (if he doesn’t have sticky hold) then you will lose HP each turn unless it’s a poison type that stole it.

Venomoth (Male) Lv41
Type:Poison/Bug
Ability:Shield Dust or Tinted Lens
Attacks:
-Psychic (Psychic/Special)
-Gust (Flying/Special)
-Toxic (Poison/Other)
-Supersonic (Normal/Other)
EXP:1212

Venomoth is pretty basic. It can confuse you or damage you with attacks. Toxic can badly poison you. Take it out quickly.

Crobat (Male) Lv44 w/Sitrus Berry
Type:Poison/Flying
Ability:Inner Focus
Attacks:
-Poison Fang (Poison/Physical)
-Wing Attack (Flying/Physical)
-Quick Attack (Normal/Physical)
-Double Team (Normal/Other)
EXP:1818

Crobat has a sitrus berry to restore a little health. It also has double team to raise it’s evasion. The other attacks are straight forward attacks. He’s fast and pretty strong.

After you beat him you move on to Bruno.

Elite Four Bruno – P5520

Bruno uses almost all fighting type pokemon. He has one rock/ground pokemon. Remember fighting pokemon are weak against flying and psychic type moves. They can’t touch ghost types unless they have a special attack or ability.

Hitmontop (Male) Lv42
Type:Fighting
Ability:Technician
Attacks:
-Dig (Ground/Physical)
-Triple Kick (Fighting/Physical)
-Counter (Fighting/Physical)
-Quick Attack (Normal/Physical)
EXP:1242

Hitmontop can be tough. Dig takes two turns so the first turn he’ll be underground and can only be damaged if you use earthquake. Quick attack always strikes first. Counter works by taking in a physical attack and throwing it back at you with double the power if he survives the attack. Triple Kick is a fighting type move that kicks an enemy three times in that one turn.

Hitmonlee (Male) Lv42
Type:Fighting
Ability:Reckless
Attacks:
-Blaze Kick (Fire/Physical)
-Hi Jump Kick (Fighting/Physical)
-Focus Energy (Normal/Other)
-Swagger (Normal/Other)
EXP:1251

Hitmonlee is a really strong pokemon. It may use Focus Energy to raise the chance of a critical hit. Hi Jump Kick is a strong fighting move but if it misses he’ll hurt himiself. Swagger confuses you while raising your attack. It raises your attack so if you hurt yourself it does more damage.

Hitmonchan (Male) Lv42
Type:Fighting
Ability:Keen Eye or Iron Fists
Attacks:
-Ice Punch (Ice/Physical)
-ThunderPunch (Electric/Physical)
-Fire Punch (Fire/Physical)
-Bullet Punch (Steel/Physical)
EXP:1260

Hitmonchan is pretty tough. He has no actual fighting type moves, instead he has four other types which are all punching attacks. I’m not sure on the ability he has but both are trouble. Keen Eye will not allow you to lower his accuracy while Iron Fists increase punching attack power. While I faced Hitmonchan, Bruno used a Full Restore.

Onix (Male) Lv43
Type:Rock/Ground
Ability:Rock Head or Sturdy
Attacks:
-Earthquake (Ground/Physical)
-Rock Slide (Rock/Physical)
-DragonBreath (Dargon/Special)
-Sandstorm (Rock/Other)
EXP:994

Onix is………well…………Onix. You’ve faced a billion of them. Take them down quick with water or grass. If you don’t Earthquake is pretty strong. Sandstorm takes HP off each turn if you’re not rock/ground/steel type.

Machamp (Male) Lv46 w/Sitrus Berry
Type:Fighting
Ability:No Guard
Attacks:
-Rock Slide (Rock/Physical)
-Cross Chop (Fighting/Physical)
-Revenge (Fighting/Physical)
-Foresight (Normal/Other)
EXP:1902

Machamp has a sitrus berry to restore a little health if he gets weak. He has foresight which allows him to hit ghost pokemon. Cross Chop is a strong attack and revenge can be strong if you attacked him first. With no guard Machamp will always hit his moves. So focus on attacks and don’t think he will miss!

After you beat him you can move on to the last of the Elite Four.

Elite Four Karen

Karen uses mostly Dark Pokemon. She has one Ghost/poison pokemon and a grass/poison pokemon. Karen may use a Full Restore on a pokemon like the other three trainers.

Umbreon (Male) Lv42
Type:Dark
Ability:Synchronize
Attacks:
-Double Team (Normal/Other)
-Confuse Ray (Ghost/Other)
-Faint Attack (Dark/Physical)
-Payback (Dark/Physical)
EXP:1773

Umbreon has prety high defense and special defense. He’ll try and confuse you and then raise his evasion so you can’t him him. The other attacks are dark physical attacks that can do a little damage but not much unless you’re a low level.

Vileplume (Male) Lv42
Type:Grass/Poison
Ability:Chlorophyll
Attacks:
-Petal Dance (Grass/Special)
-Acid (Poison/Special)
-Moonlight (Normal/other)
-Stun Spore (Grass/Other)
EXP:1656

Vileplume can paralyze you with stun spore and attack you with a grass or poison attack. Petal Dance makes him use that same attack a few turns in a row and then he gets confused when he’s done. Moonlight restores a little HP depending on weather.

Murkrow (Female) Lv44
Type:Dark/Flying
Ability:Super Luck or Insomnia
Attacks:
-Sucker Punch (Dark/Physical)
-Faint Attack (Dark/Physical)
-Pluck (Flying/Physical)
-Whirlwind (Normal/Other)
EXP:1008

Murkrow is a pretty lame pokemon if you ask me. It can be defeated pretty easily. Sucker Punch and Faint Attack aren’t too great of moves. Pluck takes a berry you may be holding while attacking you. Whirlwind forces you to switch to another pokemon randomly.

Gengar (Female) Lv45
Type:Ghost/Poison
Ability:Levitate
Attacks:
-Focus Blast (Fighting/Special)
-Destiny Bond (Ghost/Other)
-Spite (Ghost/OTher)
-Lick (Ghost/Physical)
EXP:1831

This particular Gengar is a pretty big disgrace. Take him out as fast as you can but be warned Destiny Bond can take you with him. Spite just takes off PP from your last used move. Lick is a weak ghost attack. Focus Blast is very strong but a fighting type move which can only be used 5 times.

Houndoom (Female) Lv47 w/Sitrus Berry
Type:Dark/Fire
Ability:Flash Fire
Attacks:
-Flamethrower (Fire/Special)
-Crunch (Dark/Physical)
-Dark Pulse (Dark/Special)
-Nasty Plot (Dark/Other)
EXP:2053

Houndoom is a real strong pokemon. It has tough attacks that are listed as the first three. The last one is Nasty Plot which raises it’s special attack making Houndoom even more deadly! Sitrus berry restores a little HP. This may be Karen’s toughest pokemon.

After that you have to face the last trainer, the Champion!

Champion Lance – P10000

Lance is an extremely tough Dragon pokemon Trainer as you may have seen when you battled along side him. He has a few pokemon that aren’t of the dragon type but are considered dragon pokemon based on their look. They may have dragon type attacks still. All his pokemon have very strong attacks and are of high level. This will easily be the toughest trainer you have faced yet. Remember Dragon pokemon are weak against ice and dragon type moves.

Gyardos (Male) Lv46
Type:Water/Flying
Ability:Intimidate
Attacks:
-Dragon Pulse (Dragon/Special)
-Waterfall (Water/Physical)
-Ice Fang (Ice/Physical)
-Flail (Normal/Physical)
EXP:2109

Gyarados will lower your attack instantly with his intimidate ability. All of his attacks are strong and Flail grows in strength the weaker he is. Try knocking him out with one electric attack if you have one.

Charizard (Male) Lv48
Type:Fire
Ability:Blaze
Attacks:
-Fire Fang (Fire/Physical)
-Air Slash (Flying/Special)
-Dragon Claw (Dragon/Physical)
-Shadow Claw (Ghost/Physical)
EXP:2149

Charizard has some interesting moves. Ghost and dragon type attacks are not of it’s type but are still strong. Fire Fang and Air Slash are flying and fire type attacks which is Charizard’s type. This mean it will do extra damage so look out.

Aerodactyl (Male) Lv48
Type:Rock/Flying
Ability:Pressure
Attacks:
-Rock Slide (Rock/Physical)
-Aerial Ace (Flying/Physical)
-Crunch (Dark/Physical)
-Thunder Fang (Electric/Physical)
EXP:2076

Aerodactyl has the pressure ability which means you will use twice as much PP for a move than normal. His Thunderfang can take out your water pokemon which he’s weak against and take out your other pokemon pretty easily with his flying and rock type moves which do extra damage.

Dragonite (Male) Lv49
Type:Dragon/Flying

Attacks:
-Thunder Wave (Electric/Other)
-Dragon Rush (Dragon/Physical)

The first to dragonites are basically the same. They can paralyze you with Thunder wave and hit you hard with dragon rush. Hyper Beam is also very hard hitting but will make them lose a turn the next time. Then they have their own powerful special attack (thunder/blizzard) which can do lots of damage.

Attacks:
-Safeguard (Normal/Other)
-Outrage (Dragon/Special)
-Hyper Beam (Normal/Special)

The Final Dragonite is the strongest at level 50 with a sitrus berry to restore a little health. Safeguard puts a “veil” over himself so he can’t get certain status effects on himself. Outrage is a pretty strong dragon attack that lasts a few rounds. Hyper Beam is super strong but makes them rest the second turn. Fire Blast is a very strong fire type attack like the last two dragonite’s special attacks.
