This is a Multiplayer guide to Battlefield: Bad Company 2, complete with all expansion packs.

Intro

Welcome to the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 FAQ/Guide! Here I hope to answer all your questions involving this game. It may not be a complete guide to start out with but I will update it as much as possible to be your foremost guide to the game.

This guide was made by Hector Madrigal on March of 2010. Partial credit goes to E.A. and D.I.C.E. for info and pictures taken from their game and website which is listed in this guide. Additional credit to Touchdown Cooper for helping me get screen caps for the guide.

This game was released March 2 (NA) and March 5 (EU), 2010. It is developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE), and published by Electronic Arts (EA). It is the sequel to the 2008 game Battlefield:Bad Company and is one of many games in the entire Battlefield series. This game is a first person shooter with single player and multiplayer capabilities. It uses the Frostbite Engine and was released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It was given the ratings ESRB: M and PEGI: 16+.

The only game modes are single player campaign and single player online. Online you can play one of a few game modes against people around the world. You can have up to 4 people in a squad (meaning you and three friends). Private matches can only be set up with a minimum of 8 people.

Along with the regular version of the game is a limited edition of the game which is being sold for the same price as the regular version. Of course it’s not as easily obtainable. The Limited Edition includes various multiplayer bonuses that you can use right off the bat instead of waiting to unlock them through progression in the online multiplayer. They include: Radar on tanks, Extra Armor on Tanks, Coaxial Gun for tank drivers, M1A1 Thompson, Colt M1911 .45, Tracer Dart gun, and AKS-74U. Also with the purchase of Battlefield Bad Company 2, you get a free VIP Code that gives you access to upcoming downloadable maps for free. It’s available with all games bought brand new in that certain time period (expires April 1, 2011).

Game Mechanics

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is not like your ordinary First Person Shooter. In this game you have the ability to destroy your environments. You can blow down trees, make holes in walls, or even blow down entire buildings. When firing your weapon at long range you must make sure you aim above the enemy to compensate for bullet fall due to gravity. And when an enemy is running you need to shoot in front of them enough to have the bullet reach them. There are lots of real world physics in this game that you won’t find, or hardly find, in other games. Health regenerates automatically in the campaign. In multiplayer your health will regenerate at 3 points per second when not taking damage. Medic kits help restore your health faster. Ammo can be picked up in single player, but in multiplayer you have to use ammo boxes. Along with ammo and medic boxes, there is a repair tool that lets you repair your vehicles by going next to them and using the tool on it until the repairs are made.

Game Controls

In the game there’s unlimited sprint, and the only controls that can be remapped seem to be the movement axis. Of course the movements are the same as pretty much any game. Left stick to move, right stick to look around. The spot button is used to spot enemies for team mates, ask team mates for ammo/health/ask for a ride in a vehicle, and give orders to attack or defend an objective.
